BIOGRAPHY

Pam Gardner = Biography,   by Alice Collins of Insight Communications

Pam Gardner, a prominent Northern Beaches artist based in Freshwater since the late 1960's, has developed a vast collection of works, ranging in theme from poignant villagers from war torn Africa to bright native Australian flora and fauna.   Her skills in watercolour, acrylic, oils, pastels and mixed media, have lead her to develop a collection which appeals to people of all backgrounds & artistic sensibilities due to the various stylistic depictions & interpretations of her diverse subject matter...

Having travelled extensively throughout Papua New Guinea, Thailand, Argentina, Ukraine & the Philippines as a missionary from 1993, Pam experienced in Uganda, the horrors of the Sudanese genocide first hand, & her African paintings depict the beauty of life, trying to survive in a world filled with death and destruction.

Pam commenced painting in 1989 & was mentored by well known Australian watercolourist  Rae Andrews,  later studying with Paul Warner, Lyn Butchart, Leeka Grunsdef, Val Kemsley, and Herman Peckel.   Pam's works have been entered in numerous art competitions & exhibitions around Australia, where she received awards & accolades from her peers & the general public- specifically winning the Peter Campbell art award by public vote in 1995, 1999, & 2004, an award only permitting winners to enter every four years.   Her works have been used in promotional material & official invitations for local awards & exhibitions, including the Warringah Art Awards.

In addition to exhibiting her work in galleries & competitions, Pam has been regularly sought after to paint on commission, with her paintings being bought by both local Sydneysiders & overseas patrons.  Her native flora & fauna prove very popular with tourists & locals alike, with a keen interest on her pelican & waratah collections.

Pam now has her own gallery at 52 Brighton St., Freshwater

MAY 2010 EXHIBITION

Hi everybody, I just want to let you know that I am having my next ...

Pam Gardner's
ARRESTING ART EXHIBITION
On 29th & 30th May 2010

And the theme this time is special window views....
Views that we cannot afford...
Views we really fell in love with...
Maybe a favourite travel view...
A view that creates an atmosphere, is an exciting thing,

I am always trying to create atmosphere, unusual dinner parties are always memorable, with special table settings & colour schemes, especially our "Host A Murder" Parties...with decor to suit....these times the rooms bring excitement & interest , everyone likes to spend time there, because they are having a great experience with atmosphere...WELL WHY NOT CREATE ATMOSPHERE WITH CREATIVE AWESOME VIEWS OF PLACES THAT RELEASE EXCITEMENT & INTEREST..

We used to have a wall papered with a window scene looking out to some beautiful gardens, & as we sat at the table our boys always talked about jumping out the window & playing in the beautiful garden, they were always talking about it. Atmosphere causes continual interest.

I can paint any window scene at all, from your directions, or photos & can customise the window to match your existing windows.

You can have whatever you wish, I will work to your specifications.

These 2 paintings titled "Manly & Beyond" measure 1215 x 915mm each, with added seagulls, gives a real window outlook...What would YOU like to see from YOUR windows???
